German artist Clemens Behr makes some seriously wicked installations! He uses the simplest materials to create complex ephemeral architectures, which fill gallery spaces with origami-like structures.
Clemens Behr was born in 1985, lives in Dortmund/Germany and is currently studying graphic design.
‘Feelings are Facts’ is an installation created by Olafur Eliasson in Beijing in collaboration with Chinese architect Ma Yangson.
Their collaboration invites the audience to enter an endless space of fog, with stunning color from fluorescent tubes of red, green and blue. By moving through the space, the colors blend, and so the viewers will endlessly create their own color spectrums.
Korean artist Bohyun Yoon explores the human body in light of cosmetic surgery and cloning with this piece titled, ‘Fragmentation’. The models are covered with mirrored pieces of plexiglas that reflects the models body parts.
The macarbre reflections show infinite shortened legs, torsos and arms. Yoon explains the intent of the project, ‘this provocative image of the depersonalized body is juxtaposed with the development of modern science that enables people to alter their appearance through surgeries or cloning.’
The amazing installation consists of 99 life-sized wolves, fabricated from painted sheepskins and stuffed with hay and metal wires, barreling in a continous stream towards – and into – a glass wall.
Absolutely breathtaking installation by artist Dawn Ng.
The idea of this work of art is to recreate a great wave of emotion. By making an installation with thousands of paper planes to physically burst through a single window and explode into the massive indoor space. Dawn’s intention is to visually and physically engulf the viewer.
George Rousse is a French photographer and installation artist. He likes to find abandoned places, because he sees them as blank canvas. He paints geometric shapes in them and photographs the afterwards. Pretty impressive!
Make sure you watch the video. It’s a small documentary on a project Rousse did in Durham, North Carolina.
This installation is so amazing that my eyes almost can’t crasp it! It’s called ‘Cercle et suite d’éclats’ and it was made last summer by Felice Varini in Vercorin, Switzerland.
I’m deeply fascinated by these super cool mirror installations by Francisco Infante-Arana & his wife Nonna Gorunova. Be sure to check out more of their work here.
Very cute piano installation made in Stockholm, Sweden. The people behind it goes by the name Rolighetsteorin (The Fun Theory) which is a project started by VW.
‘It wasn’t meant to end like this’ er en installation lavet af The Glue Society. Installationen er lige nu en del af Sculpture by the Sea, som er en kunstfestival i Århus. Det er ARoS der står bag og der er over 50 figurer med i projektet.
Det ligner nærmest at kranen har begravet sig selv helt uden at opdage det. Cute.
